An investment philosophy shaped by real operating experience and deep alignment with entrepreneurs
Afagh was built on more than fifty years of experience of Eng. Mohammad Javad Afagh: from building construction that creates jobs in related businesses and Matrah in architecture and renovation, to Maraya, which gives women a leading role, and Arsh Taban, which brings electricity to cities and deprived areas.
A pioneer in developing landmark building projects and in the long-term leadership of the group's companies.
Mohammad Javad Afagh, one of the country's most experienced executives, began his career in the power industry in early 1967. In roles across various departments, including Director of Power Affairs for the northern districts of Greater Khorasan and Director of Power Affairs for Mashhad, he played a key part in extending power networks to deprived areas. As CEO of Qods Housing and Development Company, his work included building a large number of residential buildings in Mashhad and its suburbs, starting construction of the large Razavi Hospital, carrying out the Iran–Turkmenistan railway link project, and delivering the major Almas Sarakhs project.
As CEO of the Sarakhs Special Economic Zone, he oversaw the construction and opening of the zone's fully equipped airport and the facilities needed to open its customs office and start import and export operations. Today the zone holds a special place in the country.
Five terms on the Khorasan Engineering Council, as a principal member of the board of directors and the presiding board, and as treasurer.
Executive director and municipal representative for the major Shohada Square project.
As executive director of the major Shohada Square project, he signed two contracts with contractors, secured financing and acquired about 75% of the remaining properties, which led to the start of construction and the opening of five of the project's thirty-three schemes, as well as the start of the large and attractive Saheb al-Zaman Boulevard project.
With the aim of creating jobs for young people and meeting existing needs, he helped found several factories, such as a flour mill and a digital meter factory, and several engineering companies, such as Part Mehraz; he also built the underground bus parking facility opposite the entrance to Mellat Park and fully renovated the Pars Hotel. Several of these are still active, employing many young people and playing an important role in meeting the country's needs.
Building on 50 years of service to the country, he founded Afagh Group and expanded his activities at home and abroad across a range of fields, including Afagh Construction Group, Matrah design studio, Arsh Taban, the Maraya women's collection and Bana Pardaz, always emphasising entrepreneurship, service to the people and the development of the country.
From construction and architecture to clothing and the power industry, with a shared approach to entrepreneurship, job creation and service to society.
Afagh Group works in construction, architecture and renovation, electrical services and contracting, and women's clothing.
Afagh Construction Group, Matrah, Arsh Taban, Maraya and Bana Pardaz are the holding's companies, each working in its own field.
